What is The Coven Choir? I hear you cry!

In a nutshell it is...

💜 A women's* weekly singing group running on Thursday evenings

💜 A community choir open to all levels of singing and witchiness

💜 Somewhere to get a fix of biscuits

💜 A place to meet other witches

💜 A place to explore spellcasting and light ritual

💜 A place to explore performing (optional) in supportive and confidence-boosting spaces

💜 Somewhere to celebrate women's* voices, to feel empowered

💜 Laidback, emotive, fun, alive ✨

A note on gender; The Coven Choir is a celebration of the feminine, a celebration of female empowerment and our voices. Non-binary people, if it resonates with you and you want to celebrate the feminine within you, you are more than welcome.

Hello! Charlie here,

Co-leader and founder of The Coven Choir

I make music and coach singing, songwriting, piano and guitar. I started the choir after I had a creative, daydreamy vision of meeting other witchy women around a fire and singing, laughing and casting spells. It looked so nice I wanted to make that happen.

I’m inspired by Celtic music, rock, indie-folk, folk, ballads, country, indie soul, soul, jazz, Baroque pop, pop, singer-songwriter styles, and by female artists that put their soul into their voice and work like Amanda Palmer, Stevie Nicks, Regina Spektor, Patti Smith, and Wallis Bird (Spoons album).

The choir is community-based and all levels of singing are very welcome. We’re not picky if you’ve never tried any witchin’ yet either. We occasionally do shows and share magic; those events are optional.

Mainly we meet on Thursdays, laugh, share, sing and frolic. If that sounds up your street, sign up and we’ll let you know when there’s a taster session and space!

Hi, I’m April.

I’m the choir’s social sec.

I joined the Coven Choir so I could make friends and sing with other witchy women, and it’s gone so well that I’m now the choir’s official social secretary! I organise our social outings and gatherings each term.

As a community, we support one another to be true to ourselves. We celebrate each other and share space, songs, and tea… and also sometimes dance moves.

The Howl at the Moon Post

Would you like to join the Howl at the Moon mailing list?

I write about weird sensitive creativeness, vulnerability, The Coven Choir, art in general, it's left-leaning and women-celebrating, humanity-loving and has an element of magic and witchiness and we bypass PAPA ALGOR (The algorithm)

Natural Notes Post - news, workshops, events we're hosting plus singing, songwriting, music tips

Looking forward to doo-wops, shoobedoos, la la las and spells with ya soon!

With love, rage and power,

Charlie,
