Your coach

Hi, I'm Homer,

Consider me your personal trainer for developing your vocal fitness, knowledge, and confidence to share your instrument.  I like to take an anatomical approach to vocal coaching, helping my students grow their understanding and control of each link in the vocal production chain. No matter your starting point, this method of vocal coaching will provide you with results in all areas, helping you develop in both your preferred style and all-around vocal fitness and ability.

Few things are more rewarding for me than the joy that comes from students who turn that corner and discover that they're more capable than they thought they could be. I aim for this with all my students – and I hope it is something I can do for you.

HERE’S YOUR PERMISSION SLIP TO MAKE MISTAKES

I know that singing to others is a vulnerable thing – particularly when learning. That is why I try hard to cultivate a fun and safe learning space where “mistakes” are encouraged and seen as opportunities to build our awareness of unsafe, unsupportive techniques. Together we will work on building your comfort and security in your voice and giving you newfound confidence when sharing it.

My Story

Coming from a musical background, I have been singing my entire life, playing in bands, and writing songs since I was a teenager. For college, I studied Musical Theatre and performance at the Brit School in London, performing life on BBC Radio 2 as part of Friday Night is Music Night. I chose not to pursue musical theatre as a career and instead came to Brighton to study professional musicianship at BIMM Brighton.

In 2024, I joined the local indie-dream pop institution Fukushima Dolphin as bassist and backing vocalist. For Christmas 2024, we released our latest single “Snow Leopard of Love” and are working on many more releases for 2025. I am working towards launching my solo career as Abnormal Human Man in 2025 and under this banner, have also started a local promotion for alternative music Abnormal Human Nights, through which I run the open mic night at the Camelford Arms and put on gigs around town.
